Windsor Ontario Hudson Plant 2009
Windsor (Tilbury), Ontario - Canadian Hudson Plant Building - 2009

This factory was originally erected by the Grove Motor Co. in 1921. Hudson-Essex, which later became Hudson Motors of Canada, began assembling Hudson cars in Tilbury (suburb of Windsor), Ontario, in 1932 in a building owned by the Canadian Top & Body Co. The first models were a series of Hudson Eights. Production ceased in 1941. Post-war operations began in 1950, but ceased in 1954 when Hudson and Toronto-based Nash Motors of Canada Ltd. merged to form American Motors (Canada) Ltd. The entire company moved to the Toronto area. In 1959 the plant was taken over by W.H. Olsen Manufacturing which produced heating equipment and truck bodies. The company continued building furnaces as Duomatic-Olsen until it closed in 1987. It was purchased by Tilbury Warehousing in 1988.
